To Buy or Not to Buy

I hope you are all enjoying this beautiful sunshine today for those of you in Toronto area:) Take advantage of it, go outside cause you know it's not going to last long.

There is one question I was meaning to ask you:

What are you feeding your cat? 

I mean seriously do you ever think about what's in those 73 cents "Friskies" cans that you get at Walmart? If you don't, it's never late to start. I know you might say "But my kitty really loves this staff, she goes nuts!", but how much do you love your kitty is a question?

If you want to ensure that your cat lives healthy and happy life, these are the things to absolutely avoid in the main ingredients:

1. By-products (everything of animal origin that is not meat) - there is no way of knowing whether these animal carcasses are free of contaminates; whether they were fed and housed well when they were alive
2. Proteins from corn (“corn gluten meal” “corn meal”)
3. Proteins from soy (“soybean meal”, “soy flour”, “soy meal”)
4. Grains (wheat, white rice) - high in gluten
5. Rye - very harsh to digest
6. Potatoes (except sweet potatoes) and tapioca - high-glycemic, causing peaks in blood sugar
7. Artificial preservatives and colorants

Next time you go to get some food for your kitty, make sure that the package lists "meat" as the first ingredient. I'd love to hear your thoughts.

Did You Know?

Let me take a minute and talk about my bright blue eye Siamese beauty – Cutie. Yes, yes I know what you thinking, who names their cat “Cutie”? Well, apparently this is what happens when you can’t agree on the name. 

Anyways, she is an intelligent and feisty little munchkin. As you can see from a picture below (she's in the back, upper right corner), it was a hard decision to choose her over 4 other adorable brothers and sisters back in 2011, but she picked us.

We all love them, can’t get enough of them and why would we, they are hilarious!

So I thought why don’t we (by We I mean my Siamese beauty and I) create a place where we can celebrate these wonderful creatures of nature called ‘cats’. Let’s face it; we are all a little cuckoo in a way. You ask why?

Well, the fact that we keep referring to our partners’ as moms or dads when talking to 4 year old queen, in my case, should say enough.

I’m excited to embark on this adventure together with you guys and hope that we can create a space where we can share, talk and show how funny, hilarious and precious our pets are.
